I am super nervous to have my surgery Monday and my dog will be home with me He just turned one and my boyfriend. My boyfriend took off the two days after my surgery and my mom said she can come anytime but it won't be to stay with me for all day just to check in. I'm worried to see how my puppy is going to act. I don't want him to hurt my incisions so I do plan on getting a pillow to hold against my belly yeah

I had a bichon poo. She was with me for 5 of my surgeries.
She recently died at age 15 from cancer. She was merely 2 when I had a surgery, she never jumped on me, she came close to me, but it's like she knew what was happening. During all my surgeries with her, it was no worries at all with her being around.
Dogs are so caring and sensitive. She helped me emotionally 😌

Funny I actually have a Pomeranian too. I got this pillow from Amazon you can clip around your waist and also goes over your neck. Looks like a star. Hopefully that will help. I also got his nails done yesterday they grinded them so hopefully that will help. I'm just having such bad cramps right now

I have a pekingnese at home. After surgery he was very clingly but never jumped on me or anything (I was on bed rest for the first week and a half cos I literally couldn’t walk) so to be safe maybe keep a pillow by you🥺❤️

My dog was with my after each of the surgeries I've had. Actually, I had two dogs back then, but they're Pomeranians so the biggest issue was just making sure that the nails didn't accidentally scratch the wound. I recommend making sure to have some kind of cushion on the wounds, like a jacket or thick pajama pants. Also be careful of your motions. Do your best to think before acting or reacting. I know it sounds easy but it can be difficult. I probably almost busted my stitches a few times just from trying to do too much.
