I took this for a few months. It may have helped with inflammation and detoxification but honestly feel like other things helped more such as holotropic breathwork and pelvic floor physical therapy. Of all of the supplements I’ve tried, this is the one other than magnesium that I think might have helped most. Definitely no harm in trying!

Is N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) effective for endometriosis pain relief?

Unfortunately, the available information doesn't specifically address NAC as a treatment option for endometriosis pain. The search results focus on more commonly discussed treatments.

For pain relief, several evidence-based options are typically recommended:

Medications:
- NSAIDs like ibuprofen taken before pain starts
- Acetaminophen for mild pain
- Prescription pain relievers for severe pain
- Hormonal therapies to reduce estrogen

Alternative approaches:
- Heating pads or ice packs
- TENS units (electrical nerve stimulation)
- Acupuncture
- Physical therapy for pelvic floor strengthening
- CBD or cannabis products where legal

Lifestyle changes:
- Regular exercise to release endorphins and reduce estrogen
- Stress management
- Diet modifications

If you're considering NAC, it's worth discussing with your healthcare provider to see if it might complement your current pain management plan. They can evaluate whether it's appropriate based on your specific situation and other treatments you're using.
