Everything you could ever want to know is at endopeadia.com. I would go there and start to learn the current theory most of us believe for the disease and best treatment options. You want to have endo removed by an endo excision specialist only!!! Many doctors claim to specialists when they are not. If they do not "cut out" endo in all locations or team up with bowel/ bladder docs then they are not, I repeat not a specialist of excising endo! As well, if a doctor only cauterizes or lasers endo that again is not removing the disease its just taking the surface off. In my opinion every endo patient owes it to herself to find a way to get to an actual excision specialist!

Excision is the true "treatment" of endo! Medications just mask the diease. Why: A GYN who does a lap (scope) to diagnose and cauterizes disease might as well be waisting your time in mynopinion. You will still need another surgery because this doesnt remove the endo, it only takes part of it off. If I could do it all over, I would have went to an Endo excision specialist from the beging of trying to get diagnosed and never ever ever let a general GYN touch me for surgical diagnosis or treatment. Heafty price to pay pay for hind sight being 20/20!

Had the excision surgery a month ago. The doctor said they got all of it out and that there was a lot all over the place. I am on hormones now, but just missed a dose due to the stomach flu, and am having a period because of it. Periods freak me out and I know I'm not supposed to have them. Is this okay? I will call my doc on Monday .

Could you tell a little more about endo excision ? I have never heard of it. I am going in for a pre-op visit today for my second surgery. The first was done by a gyn and although it was necessary, here I am less than a year later going in for more surgery. This time I am seeing someone who specializes in endo though. First surgery was to get rid of large cysts and lap. This one is going to be robotic I guess.
