My specialist said that my endometriosis is stage IV and my last surgeon didn't even touch or excise some of it (which I wasn't even told). Something to pack for the hospital stay is definitely a pillow, mainly so you can place it on your belly, between you and the seatbelt for the drive home. Others things to pack include pads, comfy pjs, some peppermint oil/Tea to relieve nausea if you need and some thing for your entertainment. Best of luck xx
My must haves for a lap are: heat pads for gas pain in shoulders, chap stick, lozenges from sore throat after tube, comfy pjs and underwear that have a band that won't lie across the incisions or are loose enough that it won't matter, my own pads opposed to hospital ones, and things to keep me occupied like magazines.
I have bad reactions to anasthetic so my hospital stay and recovery generally takes longer than what doctors suggest, but it takes about 3 weeks before I can even think about going to work or standing for longer than 10 minutes.
