Jamestown, NY

I am 18 years old and I have been diagnosed with moderate to server endo. I had laparoscopic surgery in June of this year. My doctor recommended Lupron. I am very VERY skeptical about it. As of right now I am taking birth control and skipping the placebo week so I skip my menstral cycle. But it just isn’t working like it used to. So tell me about Lupron. Is it really as bad as people think?

I was on Lupron for three months. I had weird symptoms that I think were side effects. Hot flashes, headaches, body pains, fatigue, up and down emotions, etc. I've been off of it for almost three months now. I honestly have no idea if it worked or not... My doctor was confident that it was the best option for me after I had laproscopic surgery and the Endo was too widespread to all be removed surgically. So I think it was right for me?

I would never recommend lupron. Read everything you can on it before you decide. There is a group on facebook for Lupron victims. The LUPRON DEPOT® (leuprolide acetate) Victim's. Am not trying to scare you but knowing what I know now, I would have said no. This was 22 years ago for me.

I personally did not like having to run to bathroom all the time with the constant peeing and the hot flashes oh boy were they terrible.

I have been on the lupron depot injection going on a year. I will be meeting with my doctor on the 12th of this month for my year check up. I would like to talk with her about any other medications that would help me instead of it. The medicine wasn't bad at first but I am still experiencing pain after surgery but the lupron just makes for terrible mood swings. and weight gain Ive noticed :/

I hope you get some relief though from the surgery.

It was the worst thing I’ve ever taken!! I had so many weird side effects that I couldn’t get out of my system for months.. I would have taken the pain over that any day!!! And your still the same when you stop taking it.. it can also effect your bone density if your on for a long period of time apparently x
