I have a 10 cm cyst outside my left ovary. At what stage is needed for surgery? Is that the only option? Im nervous knowing I most likely will going under the knife.

Not to scare anyone but rather to share: I had a cyst that burst because I didn’t know it was there plus I’ve had the surgery afterwards to remove other cysts, endometriosis and my ovaries as a result of all of the above, and I can def say that the surgery was less painful and less scary than the process of a burst cyst. So before yours reaches that stage, perhaps see if a laparoscopic procedure is available to you.

You can try medication and see if your cyst will decrease in size, it depends on what type of cyst you have though.

I agree with KatherineB, a cyst that size will likely need surgery. I just had my first excision surgery and they found and removed a cyst on my ovary that they never saw on my ultrasounds. I think the idea of going under the knife is scary, but in the end it should help and now that laparoscopy is so common it is a little easier than "the old days". Just remember we are all here for you. You are not alone EndoWarrior!
