hi :)

It's my first day post excision and it burns when I pee. Is that because of the catheter removal? Has anyone had this symptom?

Thanks :) xx

Definitely had that symptom - took a little while for the feeling to fade. If you’re atill feeling it in a few days, call the number your surgery team provided for after care and let them know. So t want you to worry but they might have some tips and it’s good for them to know.

It can burn a but after a catheter. Especially if you try to hold it. Keep pushing the fluids and keep trying to pee even though if hurts. A nurse should check in with you in a day or 2 mention it to them. Keep a list going so you don't forget.

Drink lots of water, go pee often, stay away from sugar, practice relaxing your pelvic floor muscles, and hopefully it goes away on its own. If its still there in a few days, call the nurse and let them know so they can run a urinalysis if needed. Its cuz the catheter can irritate the your urinary tract. Super common with catheters.

It's not uncommon to have that symptom after surgery. Could be a UTI.
