Doubting On Visanne
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone! I am 25 and have learnt i have endometrioma in my left ovarian (4cm) and high CA125 level, my doctor wants me on Visanne. I have read so many side effects and therefore i couldnt dare taking Visanne.. I am on Yasmin contraceptive pill instead. My mother told me she also had endometriosis when she was few years older than me and even with endometrioma in one ovarian, she could get pregnant and give birth to my sister.. Could you share with me if you have similar experiences… read more

Natural Supplements For Shrinking Endometriomas?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello
It's my first time posting about this. I was told last weekend after going to emergency room with what I thought was appendicitis that I had 2 ovarian cysts and endometriosis (1 on each ovary). One is about 5cm and one is almost 8cm
I have an appointment with a gynecologist next week and I am really scared. I want kids one day, and have been using NAC and DIM supplements as well as turmeric and omega 3s in hopes that it will help shrink them or help with the pain.
Has anyone ever had… read more

This question is for Nachbet. Where was the endometrioma? Mine is on an ovary. Do endo specialists have better tools to preserve your ovaries and uterus or are they likely to just recommend cutting… read more

Why Do We Have To Endure An Invasive Surgery To Have A 100% Confirmed Diagnosis For Endometriosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My gynecologist told me that she is certain I have endometriosis as well as pcos, with all my symptoms fitting them perfectly. But she also informed me that it would require surgery to confirm it so that I can get the treatment needed. I can’t take time out of work or college to do the surgery and life is miserable living it in pain and sleeplessness all the time. It’s not just a matter of missing out on work or school, it’s the money too. I can’t afford to be off more than a day, and I’ve been… read more

I can't answer why but I agree that it is ridiculous and unfair. I had the discovery surgery just to get told "yes you have it" and had to have the excision surgery 3 weeks later. Such a waste.

Ovarian Abscess Related To Endometrioma?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello all! This is my first post here, it’s super long and I appreciate the patience of anyone willing to read it! I’d also really appreciate any form of advice and guidance, and also wanted to see if anyone else here have had similar experiences.

I started my 1st period at 10 (I know lol), and have always had very, very heavy periods. I had all-day-long super painful lower abdominal pain + bleeding around 6 days past the end of my period in July (my period started on the 25th and should have… read more

I'm sorry you were so sick. Doctor's love to say things to endo patients like "that's really rare so you don't have that". Just because it's currently viewed as rare does not mean you don't have it or… read more

Menopause And Endo Symptoms
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello. Anyone menopausal and still having pain? My doctor is convinced that at 51 my endo pain will decline soon and took me off my Norethindrone daily maintenance and Mirena IUD. Crashed and had severe cramps for 3 days. Still having pain in my right side. Hoping the doctor is right, but after 30 years of dealing with pain (post a confirming laparascopy surgery in my 20s), I still feel dismissed and unheard. Thank you.

Thank you. I will look into a second opinion and research gynecological surgeons in my area (San Francisco). It's been a tough road to get a good recommendation.

Was Anyone Diagnosed With Endo After Having A Cyst Removed And Are They Connected?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've always had a lot of pain around my period (since I was 11) but was told that it was normal for a woman to be in pain and that I probably just felt more pain than others. Now on the 8th March I will be having a laparotomy to remove a 10cm cyst on my left ovary. I have been told that my ovary will also have to be removed as it looks as if the cyst has completely destroyed it. It turns out that this cyst has probably been growing since I was in my mothers womb but the doctor says it might also… read more

If Endo Is Not Found On MRI(no Chocolate Cyst Or Deep Infiltrate) Or Ultrasound Does It Mean It's Superficial And From A Milder Grade?

Normally yesi But please notice that MRI or USG is very good for endometrioma not for deep endometriosis. If your clinician is not specialist on endometriosis it is not easy for them to diagnose deep… read more
