Why Is Infertility Treatments Not Covered By Medical Aid?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is it not that when you suffer from infertility that you or your partner are experiencing some medical condition to prevent you from falling pregnant, with it is unknown or known... and yet we are not covered, why not? I can understand if the medical aid covers are afraid we'd exhaust the funds, however why not limit it to 3 cycles every 5 years? It's treated as we cosmetically want to enhance our body, when all we want is a baby? People with other chronic illness are covered why is… read more

Should I Tell My Doctor About My Endo Diagnosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I went to a Herbalist today to inquire about my periods in hope that somebody could give me an answer, I gave her just a few of the long list of symptoms haha and straight away she told me to consider Endometriosis
I was gobsmacked, no one has ever put all of my symptoms together like that, I've always thought I had it but for her to confirm it without me even hinting was like a weight has been lifted
Finally someone is listening and has some sort of answer! Not that I would want this but… read more

You're most welcome. Incidentally, I'm not sure where you are in your endo journey. Birth control can help, but really they just mask symptoms. It's important that your doctor tell you that it doesn't… read more

What Do You Think Of A Hysterectomy?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am 31 suffering endometriosis for awhile. I am so sick of the pain that I go through every day. My boyfriend doesn't even understand at all how I feel which makes it even harder. I was thinking about talking to my endo specialist about moving with a partial hysterectomy. Is it a good idea to take that next step?

Has Anyone Felt Bumps On Their Cervix?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have felt bumps on my cervix for the last month. If irritated they bleed. There are many (more than 6). I went to primary as my gyno was very booked and she did a Pap smear and sent me to another gyno to be seen immediately. He said that it was probably cysts, but he should know by visualizing. Then all he said after exam was to wait for the results. I am so nervous.

Have you experienced anything like this?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

There is something called nabothian cysts which I have, they are benign. Good you are getting it checked out, though. Your doctor will be able to confirm after the results come back.
