Will most likely have surgery in July after I graduate and go back to India. Looking for tips on choosing the right surgeon, pre and post op good habits etc and just what to expect.
Thank you so much everyone!! Yes I am shortlisting a surgeon based on whether they've done a fellowship in minimally invasive gynae surgery and then planning on speaking to a few before deciding on… read more
I recently had surgery for endometriosis and an drainage of ovarian cyst I had low interior bowel resection as my endometriosis bowel nodule was huge 11-12cms the surgeon thought the size was impressive I was just glad the thing was out as it was also pulling my uterus down
So is it normal that your first period after surgery should be heavy with large blood clots i didnt have that experience with a previous gynecological surgery of ovarian cyst removal

I’ve had laparoscopic surgery to burn off endo before but I’ve never had laparoscopic excision surgery where they cut it out at the root. This specialist is about 3 hours away from me and she said she would be checking from the diaphragm all the way down to the uterus and cervix. I’ve never had a surgeon be this thorough before. I’m nervous yet excited. Any tips on recovery?
Ohh good luck!! I’ve got my surgery tomorrow! Also nervous yet excited. If I have tips later I let you know😁
My endometriosis specialist and general surgeon are planning to remove two endometriosis masses from my abdominal cavity, but the general surgeon says he’ll be making an up and down incision. I have never had an incision like that, I’m very nervous about not knowing what to expect during recovery. Can anyone tell me about their experience recovering from an incision cut that way?
No I’m sorry to hear:( I’m sure it will go well :)
Hi! Would appreciate any thoughts or insights anyone has. Thank you!
Is there anything that in hindsight you wish you knew prior to surgery? Whether about the surgery itself, aftercare, questions you wish you would’ve asked the surgeon, etc.
At what point did you feel like the surgical pain was gone/at a manageable level where it wasn’t all you were thinking about?
Hi Eve! I wish I would have known that I would wake up in a LOT of pain. I got through it but I woke up sobbing from the intensity of the pain (maybe I wasn't given enough meds?) However, due to the… read more
Hi all. As i shared in my story I have been clinically diagnosed with Endo from an endometriosis specialist, as my previous gynecologist was not communicative nor even bringing up its possibility despite my symptoms. He did a physical exam/asked a lot of questions, and wants an MRI done to stage endo and look for adenomyosis as well. But he said especially because of my complex ovarian cyst i need surgery (he is more concerned with it being dermoid/adeno/endometrioma than cancer). It could be… read more

So I have a consult this Thursday for a laparoscopy the surgeon is not an endo expert surgeon but he is a gyno/MD/FACOG
He isn’t my first pick but my first pick who is an endo master surgeon can’t get me in just for a consult till October 19th. I don’t think I can’t wait that long with the constant pain I’m experiencing, if he offers surgery should I do it or wait for the best in my area???
Please help I need any advice, info, opinions?
I’ve had 2 previous laps, a hernia repair and full hysterectomy (ovaries kept in) within the last 4 years. My first surgeon botched the job and the second only ablated endo on my pelvic side walls. I’ve done PFT 2x a week, Botox shots, nerve injections, etc..since my last surgery 2 years ago but am still in debilitating pain. My PFT is recommending Ken Sinervo in Atlanta. Has anyone with “DIE” used anyone else and had long term success?
Yes he was my primary Surgeon. They will ask you if you have a preference. Most of my contact has been with Dr Chu outside of the week of surgery. And he personally responded to my initial inquiry… read more
