Hi! Would appreciate any thoughts or insights anyone has. Thank you!
Is there anything that in hindsight you wish you knew prior to surgery? Whether about the surgery itself, aftercare, questions you wish you would’ve asked the surgeon, etc.
At what point did you feel like the surgical pain was gone/at a manageable level where it wasn’t all you were thinking about?
Hi Eve! I wish I would have known that I would wake up in a LOT of pain. I got through it but I woke up sobbing from the intensity of the pain (maybe I wasn't given enough meds?) However, due to the… read more
As a Fellow Endo Warrior and Certified Health & Wellbeing Coach, I understand both the pain that comes from living with Endo and the value of restorative care practices. I created a soul-nourishing 8-week virtual Endometriosis Retreat that will be offered for the first time in January-February 2024. This retreat is centered around the less-addressed areas of wellbeing-the emotional, spiritual and relational aspects of living with Endo.
Living with Endometriosis invites us to start valuing… read more

I used to think that my sensitive nature and ability to cry at the drop of a some was because I was a highly sensitive person (high empath). However now that I have been diagnosed with Endometriosis I am just curious....i definitely became emotional during a meeting with a co-worker today and just wished i had control.
1. Do women with endo naturally feel more sensitive or emotional?
2. Any tips?
I have had this all of my life gifted to me unknowingly by my mother and her mother before her. I have five daughters that I’m sure will have it too. Two of the five already do. I’m a highly sensitive… read more
I started this medication almost a month ago. I’ve been having some problems at work and it’s causing me to get upset. When I used to get upset I just had to let myself calm down. But I got so angry the other day I threw my phone at the wall. I have taken orlissa before and it made my emotions BAD, and I’m wondering if this medication is doing the same. So any experience with it I’d love to hear it.
Thank you, yes I’m on 5mg. I took orlissa a few years back and it was awful. I just don’t really know if this emotional stuff is due to things that have been going on or if the medication is just… read more

I had my first diagnostic laparoscopy surgery just over two weeks ago, 13th Oct. physically I feel well enough to try to get back to a normal routine and work. However after suffering my symptoms of endo for nearly 10years, with no doctors listening to me. Mentally I'm struggling. I'm relieved to find out I do have endometriosis, and I wasn't "crazy". But now it's hit me emotionally. I had my first day back in on Monday. I found it very tough. I'm a veterinary nurse, so I can't really take it… read more
I totally hear you and can relate 100% - especially going back to work so quickly, it doesn’t really give a lot of time to process the feelings and emotions, but I do think it will help keep my mind… read more
Hi Endo Warriors! This is a photo of me around age 15 when I first started experiencing Endo symptoms. I remember temporarily losing my vision twice due to the pain being so bad. I remember feeling so afraid because I was suffering so much with vomiting on my period too and no one thought anything was wrong with me. When you are told there is nothing wrong with you, you stop asking for help because you feel afraid that maybe you are the one who is mistaken.
Anyways, fast forward 10+ years, and… read more

Hi
I'm 25, in Australia, and new to this amazing site!
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with alternatives to visanne?
I was diagnosed this year (2020) with stage 3 to 4 endo and had my first laproscopy on March 11th. I've been taking Visanne since the start of April and my period stopped almost immediately, and I gained a fair amount of weight, so much so that my family commented on it.
Lately, in the last two months or so (as of today 20th October) I've had other than the weight… read more

I've been on visanne for 4 weeks now. I've noticed a few side effects however the worst is the mood swings and depression. My friends, family and boyfriend are sick of me and my mood swings because they don't understand what I'm going through. It is very frustrating because this isn't me and im not sure how to control it. I'm just wondering if anyone who has taken visanne has any recommendations on how to deal with the mood swings and if/when they go away? I am ready to stop using it however if… read more
