Being 20 years ago, I feel I can safely say no. I felt like no one knew much if anything about it. I didn't know anyone specialized in it. Thank you. I'll do some more research.🥰
I had a laporscopy about 4 years ago and I felt better for about a year before things got really bad again I was on a waiting list for surgery last year until we found out I was pregnant with my baby girl. After having her I felt great for a few months and now the pain is coming back I'm noticing it more and more. It's not constant like it used to be so I'm wondering if it's worth looking into surgery now or if I should wait till it gets worse and do it then
You are in my prayers. I pray that yeah the operation goes well.
I think I've started Menopause. I wonder if this means I'll no longer suffer Endo?
I'm 54 and had a hysterectomy/oophorectomy nearly 10 years ago. I do still have symptoms, but they are different. The severe pain is gone, but I get bloating, rectal pain, rectal bleeding, and that… read more
My surgeries were extensive and included being rebuilt with anterior and posterior mesh and a diagnosis of extensive adhesions and lessons throughout my pelvis and abdomen. I was unable to tolerate any hormone replacements. I try to stay active and eat a balanced diet but I experience tugging and pain throughout my lower back, SI joint and abdomen. Doctors assure me that it can’t be endo or even adhesions from endo and that I should just keep active. I’m tired at 59 and feel like this disease… read more
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member. You have really had a lot of surgeries. You are very strong. We have these surgeries thinking they will help but honestly it’s just temporary relief. I feel like doctors… read more
I am 31 suffering endometriosis for awhile. I am so sick of the pain that I go through every day. My boyfriend doesn't even understand at all how I feel which makes it even harder. I was thinking about talking to my endo specialist about moving with a partial hysterectomy. Is it a good idea to take that next step?
I think it’s completely down to you and whether you want children or not. I got told at my last surgery that if I wanted them I need to do it now. I’ve always been someone who’s dreamed of having… read more
I'm 32, so I'm on a transdermal estradiol patch. I think it could've caused the recurrence, but I have to be on hormones because of my age. It took me 17 years to get this diagnosis, and I'm stage IV-- it was all over my ovaries when they removed them. I'm afraid of how bad it must be if it came back so quickly.
Is the next step excision surgery? How effective is that?
Yep! That's was part of my reasoning too. Lol.
Hi ladies, I had my uterus removed 11 days ago along with full excision surgery with Dr. Cook, and today is around the time I would have bled if I still had the uterus. I had what I can only describe as period pain/cramps today, and I wonder if anyone else has had this as well? Phantom uterus pain? Like the pain of an amputation? Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Just trying to understand.
Amanda
I had a hysterectomy and left oopherectomy in october of last year and I still get cramps around the time I should have my period. It is not as bad now as it was a few months ago but I do still get… read more
Has anyone out there had either a unilateral or bilateral oophorectomy in conjunction with excision/ablation, possibly in their mid to late 30s or early 40s? Have you been happy with your results? Have you had symptoms return? In October of 2016, I had an excision/ablation surgery, felt great for 5 months, and then my symptoms returned. Currently I’ve been on Lupron for almost 2 years and actually do really well, except for the surges towards the end of one shot and then right after the next… read more
@A MyEndometriosisTeam Member thank you for sharing all of that! Wow, this disease sure is a trade off of things to deal with, that’s for sure! Your answers have been very helpful, so thank you for… read more
Hi Endo Sisters!
Would like to ask your help and advice. Im 38y.o and Im scheduled to remove the remining part of my uterus (i had partial hysterectomy last 2015) and two ovaries Oct8. I have severe adhesions in my colon plus new cyst in my uterus stump all causing intestinal obstruction that I cant eat or drink anything without vomiting. You're so welcome I really feel for you. That's terrible. Have you had the surgery yet?
Hi y'all..
Just spoke to a surgeon today who recommends i have my left ovary out, as well as a possible bowel resection. I have a couple questions for anyone who has gone through this.
• was your recovery worse than an excision recovery?
• did you struggle with your hormones? (Ovary)
• what happens with bowel movements? (Resection)
• is there anything else specific i should know going in?
I've had 2 excision surgeries so i have a general idea of what to expect, just want more specifics.
I just had my left ovary and an ovarian cyst as well as a lot of scar tissue removed about a week ago. I’m still hurting. But I scoured the internet and asked here and I think you should be ok. I… read more
