I have to make a decision between Lupron or IUD as the birth control pill is no longer an option for me. What does everyone feel is better for pain relief and elimination of growth?
I have the Mirena IUD as birth control and still use Lupron for endo. So it’s not really a choice between the two. Lupron was hard on my overall system but I got significant pain relief from my… read more
So far I have had 3 1 month shots and each month my symptoms are worse. I have bad hot flashes and I am also on progesterone tablets.
I’m so sorry to hear it hasn’t gotten any better and that you’re going through this.
I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis 2 weeks ago after years of symptoms I figured were normal. The doctor removed what she could. I've had no pain for 2 weeks until this morning. At my post op appointment today my doctor said she wants to do the depo lupron shots to try to stop the endometriosis from cominh back. I'm seriously skeptical about this course of treatment. Has anyone gone this route and had success?
I did it for like a year and loved how I wasn't in pain. However, I wasn't prepared for the hot flashes and hormones that came crashing through my body. But overall, it did very well with me compared… read more
I had the mirena inserted due to continuos bleeding over a four month period and I haven't experienced pain like this before. My only symptom was the bleeding. I've had the Mirena for a month now and have been prescribed birth control for the progesterone. My parents don't want me taking any painkillers due to the opioid crisis. Yes, I know that's in America, but they watch a lot of TV. They didn't even want to pay to have it removed, so I emailed my gynae and she offered to do it pro bono. What… read more
I asked for lupron depot injection
I read that the depo shot can have a rash side effect which is apparently called the depo rash. How common is that? I keep learning of new side effects as I research and I'm trying to figure out if I should stay on this type of hormone treatment. Thank you
I agree. I have been taking Nortrel continuously since June, 2005. It has helped with the pain and PMDD.
Hello everyone,
I just had laparoscopic surgery 2/22 and my gynecologist has found adhesion/ endo in my uterus. Some were able to be removed however there are still smaller ones still there. The gynecologist told my parents I would need the shot I’m guessing (lupron) which will put me in a menopause state. My question is what treatments have you sought out? Is the shot worth it or should I look into alternatives I’m already on birth control and have been for years.

Thank you so much for your input.
Have any of you tried Lupron for just one month? My GYN wants me to try it for a month to see if my pain goes away. He says if it does, than the pain is still from the endometriosis (I had a laparoscopy Excision and Burning in December and am on the Mirena but neither has helped with the pain,) and if it doesn't go away, it is from something else. I'm worried about taking it. I don't react well to a lot of drugs. Would like to know what to expect from a 1 month round. Thanks
I was on it for a month. Not the worst, not the best. It's up to you. If you do it, I suggest using add back to prevent issues. I was on it while undergoing chemo so I'm not sure what side effects… read more
I am starting on the Lupron injections Friday. I will be on it for 6 months my doctor seems to think that it is going to help me with my endo and also thinks that when I come off of it I wont have any problems getting pregnant afterwards. I am just wanting to see what the success rate has been with getting pregnant after the Lupron. TIA
Hey ladies! I will be having my left ovary removed soon. I keep becoming septic and in and out of the hospital. My Doctor would like me to start on Orilissa after my surgery. Can I hear your stories about this medication?
