When To Go Back To My OBGYN?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

I am new to this and have been going to doctors with pain since January this year. I finally was referred and went to my OBGYN in July. She diagnosed me with Endo and said to take constant contraceptive pills for 6 months to try to manage the pain. So far I'm only 7 weeks into the 6 months and I'm struggling with the pain more and more each day. It's effecting my work and my relationship and I don't really understand enough about the diagnosis yet. Should I still wait it out and go back in… read more

Endo Books?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hello.

I want to talk to my youngest sister about endo. What sort of resources and books do you recommend? How would you start off?

I was thinking that a quick ten minute talk is enough for now. I will cover the basics of the disease as well. She is only five years old so I do not wish to overwhelm her however. Thanks in advance. Advice and tips will also be appreciated too. This will pave the way for further conversations.

Is it a good idea to use pictures or not?

Endo Resources
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

Hi

I have been asked to give a short talk on living with endometriosis early next year to children. What resources do you recommend which work best for educational purposes? I was considering using a mini information sheet that is printed out as a aid but maybe there are other resources that I can use instead.

Thanks in advance. The audience is a bunch of twelve year old girls so I think that a low to moderate level of detail is enough for them. How do I prepare myself? Tips and helpful… read more

Ah, the classic “I’m a doc who has no clue what’s going on so I’m going to gaslight you and make you think it’s normal” maneuver. I hate that!! Yes, great idea. Include that!

I use a THC CBD product from a local dispensary. Really any CBD product from a dispensary should be high enough dosage and quality to help you.

What Questions Should I Ask A Surgeon At My Laparoscopy Surgery Consult?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question đź’

So I have a consult this Thursday for a laparoscopy the surgeon is not an endo expert surgeon but he is a gyno/MD/FACOG
He isn’t my first pick but my first pick who is an endo master surgeon can’t get me in just for a consult till October 19th. I don’t think I can’t wait that long with the constant pain I’m experiencing, if he offers surgery should I do it or wait for the best in my area???
Please help I need any advice, info, opinions?

Ugh! I know these choices are so difficult. The main thing I would want to know is that No One is going to use ablation to treat the endo. I didn't know that everyone doesn't do excision surgery to… read more
