Ovarian Abscess Related To Endometrioma?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello all! This is my first post here, it’s super long and I appreciate the patience of anyone willing to read it! I’d also really appreciate any form of advice and guidance, and also wanted to see if anyone else here have had similar experiences.

I started my 1st period at 10 (I know lol), and have always had very, very heavy periods. I had all-day-long super painful lower abdominal pain + bleeding around 6 days past the end of my period in July (my period started on the 25th and should have… read more

I'm sorry you were so sick. Doctor's love to say things to endo patients like "that's really rare so you don't have that". Just because it's currently viewed as rare does not mean you don't have it or… read more

Mirena
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

How have you faired using the mirena despite having had bad experiences with oral contraceptive pills and visanne. Also post laparoscopy placement?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

Mirena is good if you don't have a condition. If you have endo or any female condition, it's not good. Mine imbeded itself in the uterine wall and it would come out in the consulting room. My… read more

I was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis. Doc did laproscopy and inserted Mirena two months ago. Ever since I am bleeding and cramping. I have worst pelvic pain almost daily. I take ibuprofen on daily basis. Is it normal to have this cramping and period pain after Mirena?

Visanne - A Contraceptive?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

It has stopped my periods too, Dr just say not to rely on it as a contraceptive. It’s a small chance, but enough they have to warn you. But if you’re ok with the remote chance of getting pregnant then… read more

Visanne + Oral Contraceptive (Marvelon)???
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello everyone!

I went to my Gynae today and was advised to take Marvelon pills together with what Im already taking which is Visanne. He said i need to take both, non-stop, for a year, coz this will "kill" the endo cells?!? Im doing well with Visanne until now and Im a bit scared honestly to mix both and use at the same time (he said 1 Vissane morning, 1 Marvelon at night) ..

Has anyone been prescribed with Vissane together with an Oral Contraceptive at the same time?? If yes, any feedback? I… read more

Visanne - A Contraceptive?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi ladies,
I would like to know if any of you have used visanne with no contraceptive method.
The timing is not right for me to have a kid now. Both my gynecologists said it can be used without condomns as a contraceptive but I called the lab which said it hasn’t been tested as a contraceptive so they can’t advice to do so.
So I would rather have first hand experience from women who have used visanne with or without non hormonal contraceptives.
Thanks a mill

I was on Visanne for 3 months and i didn't have any protection exept my partner partner took his 'prince' out before orgasm.

Does Anyone Experience Slight Brown Spotting While On Oral Contraceptives?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed in 2019 with a laparoscopic surgery and biopsy. In 2022 July I was again found with about 4.5 cm cyst pressing my bowel. I was put on Visanne which really helped me manage the daily pelvic pain I was experiencing. But breakthrough bleeding was the issue. After 10 months of use, I am currently on a 2 months break from Visanne but I am taking contraceptive pill to manage my symptoms. This is my second month. It’s 13th day of my cycle and the abdominal and pelvic pain has not gone… read more

Period After Laparoscopy
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I need help! I had a laparoscopy and was diagnosed with endo just over a week ago. They removed the endo and put a mirena in, but they told me to keep taking my oral contraceptive too. But I don’t know how long to take it for. I can’t get in touch with the doctor.

A week later and I feel like I’m getting my period every night, I feel so sick and nauseous and I’m wondering if it’s because I’m on two hormonal contraceptives at the same time and my body is confused. I want to stop taking my oral… read more
