Can You Still Experience Intermittent Periods After Menopause With Endometriosis?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

After a full hysterectomy you should never have bleeding. Even with a partial. Sounds as if they may have left major parts in you, that need to be removed.

Menopause And Endo Symptoms
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello. Anyone menopausal and still having pain? My doctor is convinced that at 51 my endo pain will decline soon and took me off my Norethindrone daily maintenance and Mirena IUD. Crashed and had severe cramps for 3 days. Still having pain in my right side. Hoping the doctor is right, but after 30 years of dealing with pain (post a confirming laparascopy surgery in my 20s), I still feel dismissed and unheard. Thank you.

Thank you. I will look into a second opinion and research gynecological surgeons in my area (San Francisco). It's been a tough road to get a good recommendation.

How Long Until I Will Be Able To Move Around For A Whole Day After My Hysterectomy? How Bad Is The Pain? What Was Hormone Replacement Like?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

New here but sadly not to endometriosis. Obviously I live with the burden of this disease running my life and marriage so after a year of being told I need a hysterectomy I have scheduled it. The Dr is saying 6 weeks for healing. We are doing laparoscopic with the possibility of abdominal removal as I have Stage 4 and it is covering my bowels and possibly reached my bladder. Any of you who have had a hysterectomy please tell me how long did it take until you could move around at least for an… read more

Endometriosis After Menopause
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I might be entertaining menopause early due to the damage endo has done, my gynae isn’t sure at this point but says it’s possible. She told me menopause is the cure. Is this true?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

My OBGYN said menopause is supposed to help since you don’t get your periods anymore. She even gave me the option as a treatment to move my body to menopause sooner with a drug. I didn’t want that… read more

Hysterectomy Option
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

For those who have had a hysterectomy could you share your experience
I have had excision, been on Lupron, Depo and every pill under the sun. My options are slim and I’m miserable
Yes I had my surgery with a Nook excision specialist.
Yes I know a hysterectomy is not a cure.
Yes I know I’m young.
Yes I am aware that takes away my option to bear children.
It’s a difficult decision- hence my research and advice seeking.
But I am out of options and I do not want to be miserable the rest of my… read more

Can Depo Provera Remove Evidence Of Endometriosis So That A Surgery To Remove The Fallopian Tube And Ovary Would Show Nothing.
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

If Depo is used for treatment of endo, is it possible for someone to have it and it not be noticeable even when a doctor is removing an ovary and fallopian tube, even when a biopsy is done?

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello, I wanted to speak to people that have been diagnosed and how they knew it was endo. I've been going to the doctor due to lower left abdomen pain that has been going on for a year. Some days it's worse than others but when on my period the pain in my entire uterus and rectum is really extremely bad (for about 5 years now) It doesn't feel like cramps and sometimes I feel like I'm going to faint or like something is trying to come out of my because of the shooting pains but now my lower left… read more

Is Anyone On The Depo-Lupron Shot?
A MyEndometriosisTeam Member asked a question 💭

The Depo-Lupron shot kicks you into full menopause. My doctor believes after 6 months on the shot my endometriosis will go away. Needless to say I'm skeptical...

A MyEndometriosisTeam Member

It doesn't make it go away. It does stop it from growing temporarily. I recommend Dr. Cooks book. It explains the disease (what is known anyway) and the many different attempts at treatment. Also… read more
