How have you faired using the mirena despite having had bad experiences with oral contraceptive pills and visanne. Also post laparoscopy placement?
Hello all! This is my first post here, it’s super long and I appreciate the patience of anyone willing to read it! I’d also really appreciate any form of advice and guidance, and also wanted to see if anyone else here have had similar experiences.
I started my 1st period at 10 (I know lol), and have always had very, very heavy periods. I had all-day-long super painful lower abdominal pain + bleeding around 6 days past the end of my period in July (my period started on the 25th and should have… read more
I'm sorry you were so sick. Doctor's love to say things to endo patients like "that's really rare so you don't have that". Just because it's currently viewed as rare does not mean you don't have it or… read more
Im on them now and just want to know what poeple experienced after they stopped the injections. Xx
*these are montly stomach injections for 6 months or 2x over six months. They bring on temporary menopause**
Is that Lupron that makes your body believe that you and perimenopause is that that has so many things done that I have no idea at this point. I’m just going back in time.
Hello everyone!
I went to my Gynae today and was advised to take Marvelon pills together with what Im already taking which is Visanne. He said i need to take both, non-stop, for a year, coz this will "kill" the endo cells?!? Im doing well with Visanne until now and Im a bit scared honestly to mix both and use at the same time (he said 1 Vissane morning, 1 Marvelon at night) ..
Has anyone been prescribed with Vissane together with an Oral Contraceptive at the same time?? If yes, any feedback? I… read more
Thanks @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member I did 3 Laps already and the previous one was only last January where they removed my endo cells apparently. Its very frustrating coz after three months it went… read more
6 years ago I started getting worse abdmonial pain and nausea. After couple of Ultrasounds they diagnosed appendicitis and removed it. Following month itself I had the recurring pain. Later went to GI and after U/S the results were normal. One fine day of the same year had severe vomiting and pain in abdomen resulted ER visit. CT, U/S were done and found 4cm haemorrhagic ovarian cyst on left. No medication prescribed so far.
3 years ago, again had the pain which usually starts a week before… read more
You are right @A MyEndometriosisTeam Member. I wish everyone should get a chance to diagnose it earlier.
I was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis. Doc did laproscopy and inserted Mirena two months ago. Ever since I am bleeding and cramping. I have worst pelvic pain almost daily. I take ibuprofen on daily basis. Is it normal to have this cramping and period pain after Mirena?
Oh, thats bad! I am not sure about endometriosis induced IBS. No doctor ever told me that, but it might be the cause. And I don't have a specific time for pelvic pain but it usually starts in the… read more
Ok so I'm asking this question because my Mom is curious. How many of you were on long term birth control before you started having issues trying to conceive?
My Mom is convinced birth control (or something consumed in our generation) is causing infertility. We know birth control keeps Endo from growing quickly, so I'm not sure her theory applies with our disease. But I told her I would ask
I was diagnosed endometriosis at the age of 19 . Doctor advised to take birth control pills such as Ovaral tablet every day 1. I started using this birth control pill from 2021. Everyday i am… read more
So I have tried the combined pill and the mini pill for endometriosis management. Both did not help with my pain at all and I had HORRIBLE emotional side effects so I got off of it. Getting a laparoscopy soon, is it worth trying an IUD? I’m scared of the emotional side effects but my doctor has said they are less severe with IUD vs oral contraceptives.
It has stopped my periods too, Dr just say not to rely on it as a contraceptive. It’s a small chance, but enough they have to warn you. But if you’re ok with the remote chance of getting pregnant then… read more
How long were you on meds before your doctor decided to do a laparoscopy? My gyn wants to put me on orlissa or bc for 6months to a year before doing a laparoscopy? Do you find that to be typical?
My daughter was at gynae today in Mullingar Ireland. We were told to take oral contraceptive 3 months witout a break...break then back 3 months without a break. This is until she has an ultrasound… read more
